About

Hi, I'm Crayton.

I'm a systems administrator, programmer, and IT systems architect with a passion for designing and maintaining high‑performance computing environments.

Systems that quietly do their job

I specialize in building robust hardware and software systems, managing complex network infrastructures, and keeping critical IT assets online and predictable. My work lives at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and security.

Over time I've worked across Windows and Linux environments, building out high‑availability clusters, tuning storage, and wiring up monitoring so we catch issues before users do.

How I like to work

  • Start with understanding: what we're really trying to make reliable.
  • Design first, then implement — with room for iteration.
  • Prefer boring, well‑understood technology over shiny chaos.
  • Automate repeatable work and document it so others can trust it.
  • Keep security in the loop from day one, not bolted on at the end.

What I care about

I enjoy taking messy infrastructure and slowly turning it into something calm: sensible naming, clear diagrams, solid backups, and dashboards that tell the truth. Good systems let people focus on their work instead of fighting their tools.

I'm comfortable anywhere between bare‑metal troubleshooting and higher‑level architecture discussions, and especially where the two meet.
